Simplicity is The Key to Life

The older I get, the more I appreciate the value of simplicity.

When you're going through abuse with a narcissist, they place your value in how much you do for them. And it's never enough depending on the mood they're in at that moment. They always keep you walking on eggshells and doubting yourself, your purpose, and your self-worth.

I've had to unlearn the idea that I'm only significant if I'm making someone else happy, that I have to be "perfect" to be lovable. I've had to retrain my thoughts from things like "I'm not doing enough"...to "I AM MORE THAN ENOUGH!"

Do you know who was significant and didn't know it? The man was carrying the pitcher of water in the Bible. In Mark 14: 12-13, Jesus told his disciples to look for the man holding the pitcher of water. THAT man led the disciples to the upper room, where they received the most important message that Jesus gave, and one we still welcome to THIS DAY! That He would die for our sins.

No one knows who the man carrying the pitcher of water was. No one knows his name and will never know his name, but he served a great purpose in this world.

And it got me thinking. The man carrying the pitcher of water was just a man, living his simple, everyday life, and he led others to receive the most important message in the world! How do we KNOW that we aren't already doing what God put us on this earth to do?

Just be who God created you to be. Live the life He gave you, and trust that His plans are more incredible than you'll ever know. You're making a difference. Whether you're a mom or dad, raising the future generation. A husband or wife, helping equip your spouse. A businessman, or woman, leading your company to a moral and ethical standard. A student who sits with the lost & broken. An athlete; inspiring others never to give up. Whether you're in the military, fighting for what you believe in most. An athlete, inspiring others to never give up on their dreams. An artist; one that eludes the freedom of expression. Or you're a medical professional, doing everything you can to help heal the sick. Whatever it is, you are MEANT to be here.

So don't overcomplicate it. Keep it simple because your purpose is found in the simplicity of your everyday life.
